Getting Ready to launch my first Dungeon and Dragons campaign as Dungeon Master, and I am Nervous.

I have played D&D for a few years now and have enjoyed it so much as a player. The

DM who runs it has done an amazing job at keeping us all entertained. But as we are reaching

the end of his campaign, I decided I wanted to DM my first game. WOW, the stuff that goes into

running your own campaign, I must applaud my DM for everything he has done since it takes a

lot of work. The rules, the story, the bad guys that we are fighting, who goes first, second, etc., it

has been challenging for sure, but as I build my world, I am looking forward to finally starting it.

I feel like Plutarch Heavensbee from Hunger Games, and it exhilarates me. Creating the overall

story was easy, populating it with monsters and dungeons was even easier, the challenging part is

knowing all the rules that go into the game. I know the rules are just there to serve as a guide but

to make it fun for my players I want to know as much as I can so it can benefit them as we go on

this journey. I got this book called the game master’s book of traps, puzzles, and dungeons by

Jeff Ashworth and it is amazing. I have been thinking of ways to make my campaign fun without

always battling monsters and this book provides everything I need for that. It gave me great ideas

of what I can use throughout my first DM experience. Of course, I am extremely nervous to DM

a D&D game because I really want my players to enjoy it as much as we are the current game we

are finishing up. So, my anxiety levels will be on high alert until we start my campaign, which is

sometime at the end of this month or early November. I know my friends will have fun because

every time we play it’s all jokes and feasting on the best food and snacks, I just hope they like

the actual game. Of course, I will keep everyone reading this updated on how it goes.
